Natural Holiday Wreath Workshop with Aurora Botanica

In this workshop with Aurora Botanica we will learn how to create lush, durable and fragrant natural wreaths using different textures from the earth such as moss, pine, berries, cedar, dried flowers and more.

Rawan is very experienced in many forms of floral and plant arranging so we will also learn how to create an expressive form, keeping an organic structure to the wreath.  This adds a little more beauty than just a classic wreath.  And you can use these skills when making other arrangements in the future.

Wreaths make beautiful gifts during the holiday season but are also great for your own home.  They will add a beautiful woodsy fragrance to your home throughout the season.

Learn The art of Sashiko with Gina Rockenwagner

Basic Sashiko techniques, appliqué, reverse appliqué, other fun embroidery stitches, as well as simple finishing techniques to turn your patchwork piece into a trivet, pillow or wall hanging. Or, get ambitious and make a quilt! We will cover all you need to know to make your Sashiko dreams come true.

All materials will be provided (denim and fabric to make a trivet, fabric marking pens, needles, thread) along with wine and drinks!  Also, feel free to bring your own denim that needs mending.

Tarot is back with Lindsay Mack

To read tarot is to look into a sacred mirror of the soul. It is a bridge that connects our earthly selves to our wild selves, an ancient and unwavering connection that is available to us at any moment. The medicine of a Tarot reading can spark deep healing and evolution within us. It can help us to release old patterning, blocks, and fears. It is a divine compass, pointing us in the direction of our soul's true path.

In this comprehensive workshop, we will explore the Tarot as a healing form, as well as how to deepen our intuition. We will cover the following (and more!):

-The Major and Minor Arcana

-How tarot can help us release deep fears and old patterning

-How the nervous system has everything to do with life changing readings

-Spreads, as well as how to pull cards

-How to deeply expand your intuition (this will be powerful for even the most intuitive witches out there!)

-How to care for your cards

Bring your deck, a notebook and a pen!

Tickets HERE - $40 earlybird, $45 day of

Adult beverages provided

Ceramic Underglaze Workshop with Minh Singer

Fall is coming.  We're all settling back in to our lives without the sun.  Now is the perfect time for creative growth.

In this class you will learn how to hand mold a plate with an emphasis on texturing techniques.  You'll be painting with underglazes. These give you more control because they don't bleed, run or blend the way other glazes do. Your color and your lines are nearly identical before and after firing.

Because you are able to get a more accurate image, students may wish to bring inspiration images of something they would like to paint, or you can look at the warehouse for prints to work with.

After the workshop, your fine china will be taken to Minh's studio where she will coat it with a clear food safe glaze and before firing. Your finished work will be ready for pick up on October 23rd.

Class includes:

-clay
-materials for molds
-inspiration pictures
-hand building technique books
-tools
-paint brushes
-underglazes
-refreshments

Tickets HERE =  $68

Earlybird Special:  $60 if purchased before 8 pm Monday, September 28th

Skin Cleanse DIY Product Workshop with Adina Grigore of SW Basics

Most of us know better than to slather our faces with chemicals, but we get busy and do it anyway. We try to buy natural products only to find out they have some random ingredient that's really bad for our skin. We don't want to drop a ton of money for something we're not sure will work.

Adina Grigore, author of Skin Cleanse and mastermind founder of SW Basics, wants to help.  As a local business, her products are already well loved in Brooklyn.  But now you get the opportunity to make this stuff yourself!

In this class we'll be making an assortment of products: a scrub, mask, cream, facial and body oil, toner, and cleanser! You'll get to take home a bag full of new products, and you'll learn the principles of simple DIY--how to turn kitchen cabinet ingredients into effective, beautiful skincare. Copies of Skin Cleanse will be available for purchase in case students would like to go home and continue their DIY journey!

I don't know if you could really ask for much more.  This is gonna be great.

It's RUMMAGE SALE time again!

We're celebrating Pi Day with one of our famous pile sales!  Many of you already know the drill: all of our clothes are great, but some garments need a little loving rehab we sadly don't have time to give (tiny issues like small holes, removable stains or missing buttons... all easy fixes). So if you're handy with a bottle of Oxiclean or needle and thread, you’ll find incredible vintage scores for pennies on the dollar.

For $25, you can stuff as many items as you can into a plaid, woven plastic bag that we provide.
Details:

- $25 per bag (provided).  Cash only.
- We won't be restocking so show up early and be ready to dig.
- No dressing room for this event.
- After the sale, our warehouse reverts to normal, and you're free to browse our standard stock.

- Please don't steal things off our shelves or walls.  It hurts our feelings and makes us feel unappreciated.

See you next Saturday!

Welcome Spring with Soft Skin: A Centering Oil Blending Workshop for Your Soul

Our last Hi Wildflower Botanica workshop sold out early, so we're bringing you a special Spring Equinox addition!  Learn about natural oils and herbs and the effect they have on us.

To welcome the spring you'll be creating two things:

A Spirit Elixir - body/face oil (also makes a great meditation oil)
A personalized herbal tea blend to ground, center and calm

The spirit elixir is a beautiful concoction composed of sacred woods like Palo Santo, Sandalwood, Frankincense; as well as flowers rooted in ancient traditions, including Blue Lotus, Jasmine, Rose - these simple blends can be used for meditation and centering as we enter a new season.

Some of the materials we will learn about and work with for the Herbal Tea: chamomile, yarrow, rose, lavender, violet leaf, jasmine flower, calendula, damiana.  This blend can be steeped in hot water, smoked or used for a facial steam.

We'll even have personalized messages you can write on tea bags - gentle reminders of self-love and intentions for the new season.

Space is limited, so make sure to get your tickets HERE. Class cancellations must be 48 hours before the event.  The warehouse is open from noon on Fridays, so come by early for some good vintage pickings!
