Announcing: Weekly Warehouse Sales

Ok, folks.  We've just launched our weekly sales.  So, for one week only, we will choose a category to mark down.  The appropriate bin will be marked "SALE BIN" to make it easy for you to find.  The category will change every week.  Popular categories will be put into the rotation more frequently.  Please don't ask for discounts from sales from previous weeks because that's annoying and we want this to be fun.
We don't like bombarding social media feeds with constant reminders, so keep your eye out for images like these to announce the sale for the week.  On Instagram we will use the hashtag #drvweeklysale to make it easier for you to pull it up.

We are open to the public Tuesdays 3 - 7 pm and Sundays 12 - 6 pm.  We're at 233 Norman Ave in Greenpoint.  Wholesale clients, please call or email for an appointment.

Our capsule collection for Noir Ohio

It all started with a social media crush.  I've followed Noir Ohio for years, and I guess I've always had fantasies of dressing her.  She has this way of making absolutely everything look incredible.  And then one day I saw her sporting the most basic black jumpsuit in a way that made it look like what Prince's sexiest song would look like if it were an article of clothing.  And I knew.  I had to do a collection with her.  So I pulled some pieces that I knew she would give the justice they deserved and viola - our capsule collection for Noir Ohio.

New items will be added daily, so make sure to keep an eye on her shop.

Here are some of my personal favorites:

A slice of the 80s, just for you

Honored to be chosen as one of Refinery29's Superstars of Vintage!!

Why did you move to New York from Portland?
"I was offered a job wholesaling vintage out of a factory in Brooklyn. I moved to Greenpoint in 2006 and immediately fell in love. New York is inspiring because it attracts the innovative and the brave."

What is your vintage shopping strategy?
"I rarely hunt with something in mind. When I shop for vintage I just wait until the right piece appears. I’m usually drawn to things that are a little different or are beautiful quality. When working, my clothes come to me about 2,000 pounds at a time, so I have fun making collections for my clients. I love attacking a giant pile and separating it into categories that make sense and look great together on a rack."

What is the most treasured vintage item in your home?
"It’s a little silly, but the first thing that comes to mind is an antique iron horse door stop. I grew up behind a horse ranch and have always had a special place in my heart for all things equestrian. This kind of stuff sells really well so when I found it, I remember realizing that it would be okay if I kept a few nice things for myself."

Is there anyone in the vintage industry you look up to?
"Laura Wills from Screaming Mimis has been a huge inspiration for me. Her styling has always been visionary, and she was successful in the industry decades before vintage was a mainstream trend."

Any words of wisdom from your years in the industry?
"Start at the bottom because it’s easier to understand all aspects of your business if you work your way up. Don’t be fooled by the over-reported “glamorous” side of fashion — running a business is hard work and requires complete dedication. There will always be people who have something to say about you or your work, especially if you have any sort of online presence, so learn to distinguish between unnecessary negativity and constructive criticism."

Come to our first annual "This for That" Clothing Swap!

Are you broke, but yearning to spruce up your summer wardrobe? Lady, it's your lucky day. Dusty Rose Vintage is Greenpoint's largest vintage clothing warehouse, and will host their first annual "This For That" clothing swap on May 30th.

Here's how it works: just rock up with a bag of spring/summer garments and accessories you're done wearing but want to find another loving home. $3 gets you in the door, then swap to your heart's content. With a packed crowd of other Greenpoint fashion addicts, you're bound to make awesome trades. Plus it's a perfect opportunity to spring-clean your closet, and go shopping without a shred of guilt. Can't put a bag together? Just pay a little more: $5 on the door.

Dusty Rose will lay on free punch for to quench your thrifty thirst, and if you can't make the swap but still want to donate, you're welcome to drop clothes off at the warehouse in the week before the event.

If you're a true vintage fan, this is a great chance to get a sneak-peak at Dusty Rose Vintage BEFORE they officially throw their doors open to the public in June. Trust us: this place is going to be a goldmine of affordable vintage, unlike anything in New York City.  It has to be seen to be believed.

Our DIY legging collaboration with Etsy

Spring has sprung and it's time to lose the bulky jeans and slip into something a little more comfortable.  We are collaborating with Etsy to bring you a fun and creative evening out.   The Etsy Labs are hosting a Hands On event with Etsy’s Social Media Coordinator and talented crafter, David Morgan.  He will be teaching DIY fabric printing techniques.  There will also be a variety of fabrics available for the sewing saavy.  We're bringing a mountain of solid vintage cotton and spandex leggings just waiting for your embellishment.

Come on down and show us your creative side!

Ahoy Mates! Nautical Booty up on

On "Yachts and vintage clothing: two fashionable vessels every stylish person should always have at the ready. (We can dream, can’t we?). At the very least, we won’t leave home without some classic nautical fashion, which Dusty Rose happens to have in spades. Whether you fancy yourself a vintage diving diva or a seafaring sartorialist, this piece will put just the right pop of refined retro into your ensemble."
